Experimental: PyPI wheel files (install with pip)

Experimental PyPI wheel files are available here, for testing purposes.

The goal is to publish these wheel files on a PyPI server as soon as they meet the requirements. For now, we're offering these wheel files for download here.

How does it work?

When you type pip install cloudComPy, pip connects to a PyPI server and attempts to find a binary (the wheel file) compatible with your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux), its version, and your Python version.
If a wheel file is found, it is downloaded and installed in your Python environment.

Otherwise, if you have a wheel file that matches your Python version, for instance cloudcompy-2.14.0-cp310-cp310-macosx_13_0_arm64.whl, you can install it using the following command:

pip install /path/to/cloudcompy-2.14.0-cp310-cp310-macosx_13_0_arm64.whl

Here you'll find wheel files for Windows 11 (X86-64), MacOS (arm64, version 13.0 or later) and Linux (X86-64, GLIBC =2.31 or later: for example Ubuntu = 20.04 or a newer version).
We provide wheel files for Python 10 through Python 14.

How to test ?

To test the library without risking damage to anything in your environment, the best approach is to create a Python environment (venv).
For example, if you have installed and are using Python 3.10 (the exact syntax depends on your operating system):

On MacOS:

/path/to/python3.10 -m venv venv310
source venv310/bin/activate
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip
pip install /path/to/cloudcompy-2.14.0-cp310-cp310-macosx_13_0_arm64.whl

On Windows:

\path\to\python3.10 -m venv venv310
venv310\scripts\activate.ps1
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip
pip install \path\to\cloudcompy-2.14.0-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl

On Linux:

/path/to/python3.10 -m venv venv310
source venv310/bin/activate
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip
pip install /path/to/cloudcompy-2.14.0-cp310-cp310-linux_x86_64.whl
